Veterans Day Observances Scheduled Throughout The Outer Banks

This Friday, Nov. 11, America honors all of the men and women who have served in our military and armed forces, and there are numerous official observances of the national holiday scheduled throughout the Outer Banks on that day.

Read on for the schedule of 2016 Veterans Day observances happening this Friday, Nov. 11, on the Outer Banks: 

  • Flag Raising Ceremony at Pirates Cove Flagpole – 9:00 a.m.
  • VFW Ceremony at Manteo Monument – 10:00 a.m.
  • VFW Ceremony at Nags Head Town Hall – 11:00 a.m.
  • Knights of Columbus Ceremony at Kern Pitts Center, Southern Shores – 11:00 a.m.
  • VFW Ceremony at Veterans Monument, Kill Devil Hills – 12:30 p.m.

Dare County Arts Council has also announced more than 20 events scheduled during Outer Banks Veterans Week, which started last Friday and continues through this weekend with ceremonies and special events from Corolla to Cape Hatteras for Veterans and Active Duty Service members.
