Outer Banks Halloween Parade Adds Great Pumpkin Contest
The 3rd Annual Outer Banks Halloween Parade of Costumes returns to Kelly’s in Nags Head, NC on Sunday, October 30, 2016, presented by OBX Entertainment, and this year we are adding an all new event to the festivities, offering yet another spirited, artistic avenue of expressing all the fun of our favorite season, introducing the Great Pumpkin Contest, sponsored by our friends at Outer Banks Entrepreneurs.
Registration for the parade opens and the pre-parade Halloween Festival begins at 2pm, featuring live entertainment, special guests, trick or treating, and some new additions for 2016, including the Great Pumpkin Contest, in which entries are pre-prepared jack-o-lanterns that can be hand carved, hand painted, or otherwise “dressed”/decorated to be judged in categories that include scariest, funniest, and most creative.
The winning pumpkin entries in each category will receive a special basket of treats and goodies from Outer Banks Entrepreneurs.

Please note that all of the pumpkins / jack-o-lanterns to be entered into the Great Pumpkin Contest must be fully carved, painted, decorated, and prepared prior to the event and then brought to the Outer Banks Entrepreneurs’ trick or treat table for registration into the contest during the Halloween Parade festival starting at 2pm on Sunday, October 30 in the backyard at Kelly’s in Nags Head.
This event is inspired by the popular Food Network competition series Halloween Wars, airing on Sundays in October.

As in previous years, all Costume Contest entries must be registered to participate in the Halloween Parade to be eligible for prizes.
Everyone who registers to walk in the Parade will be entered into the Costume Contest, with the winners to be announced during an Awards Ceremony immediately following the Parade. You must be present and remain in costume until the winners are announced in order to claim any prizes.
