Outer Banks Halloween Film Festival After Parties Announced

Posted By on October 21, 2016

One of the highlights of HalloWeek 2016 is sure to be the first ever Halloween International Film Festival, which will feature more than 30 independent films from around the world screening over three days at R/C Theatres KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills, and we are happy to have three local landmarks hosting the official after parties following each day of the Festival.

The Film Festival kicks off on Thursday, Oct. 27, with a full day of short and feature length films that were all shot in North Carolina, including a few filmed here on the Outer Banks.

After the final screening of the day, the sci-fi epic Sol (filmed entirely on the Outer Banks), the action moves over the Jolly Roger Restaurant on the beach road (NC 12) in Kill Devil Hills for the Day One official after party, where you can murder your favorite spooky tunes at Scaryoke.

Day Two, on Friday, Oct. 28, features a stellar lineup of horror and sci-fi films, capped off with a special showcase screening of the international award winning short film Night of the Slasher, which was shot entirely in one continuous take.

The Outer Banks Brewing Station in Kill Devil Hills will host the Day Two official after party, which will include additional bonus screenings of two short “fan films” that pay tribute to some horror classics, spotlighting Enjoy The Show, an homage to American Psycho, at 10:30pm, followed by a found footage take on the Halloween Michael Myers mythology, The Haddonfield Memorial Tapes at 11pm.

The third and final day of the Film Festival, Saturday, Oct. 29 features a block of international short films, a North Carolina-shot western, a terrifically terrifying collection horror shorts, and our finale block of Halloween-themed films.

Following the throwback feature Honeyspider (also filmed in North Carolina), the Day Three official after party takes over Kelly’s Outer Banks Restaurant and Tavern in Nags Head, where there will be dueling DJs and an adults-only costume contest with a $100 cash prize during the annual Kelly’s Halloween party on Saturday night.

You can see the full lineup of films and the screening schedule of showtimes, as well as purchase your Film Festival tickets HERE.

These events are happening in conjunction with HalloWeek on the Outer Banks, featuring a week of Halloween events throughout the area, including the first Halloween International Film Festival Oct. 27-29 at RC Theatres in Kill Devil Hills and the 3rd Annual Outer Banks Halloween Parade of Costumes on Oct. 30 at Kelly’s in Nags Head, plus Wanchese Woods Haunted Trail, Halloween ComicFest at Earth 383, Trunk or Treat at the YMCA, Spooky Sips Wine Tasting Welcome Party at Sweet T’s, the Exotic Erotic Ball at Outer Banks Brewing Station, and Scaryoke nightly at the Jolly Roger.
