All Dare County Recreational Facilities Closed; Activities Suspended Indefinitely
All indoor recreation activities scheduled at Dare County Parks and Recreation facilities are suspended until further notice as of 5:00 p.m. today (1/7/21)..
The following buildings will be closed to the public:
Dare County Youth Center
Lions Club Center
Dare County Center
The closures come following a directive issued by state health officials indicating that individuals in North Carolina should only leave home for essential activities such as going to school or work, getting food, seeking medical care, or caring for family members.
Please note that COVID-19 vaccination clinics sponsored by the Dare County Department of Health & Human Services are not subject to this guidance due to the critical need to supply vaccinations.
If your child was registered to participate in an upcoming recreation program, Dare County Parks and Recreation will be issuing a refund.
North Carolina’s statewide mask requirement and modified stay-at-home order are still in effect. The order requires people to stay at home between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. Businesses including restaurants, bars, entertainment venues, personal care businesses, most retail stores, and more, have capacity limits and are required to close by 10 p.m. In addition, all onsite alcohol consumption sales must end by 9:00 p.m.
Dare County continues to provide most of its regular services to residents and visitors; however, individuals are advised to contact an office before visiting.
