The locally filmed National Geographic Channel (NatGeo) reality competition series Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks returns for its seventh season this weekend, featuring an all-star lineup of local and visiting captains from the original Wicked Tuna series and its popular spin off, and we have two clips and three preview videos from this Sunday’s Season Premiere teasing the action to come.

The Season 7 premiere episode is entitled “Clash of the Titans”, and will feature the return of local four-time winner Capt. Greg Mayer of the Fishin’ Frenzy, as well as last year’s Season 6 winner Capt. Bobby Earl of the Reel E’ Bugging, along with the Little Shell with Capt. Nick Gowitzka, the Rasta Rocket with Capt. Zack Shackleton, and Gloucester favorites Pinwheel with Capt. Tyler McLaughlin, Hot Tuna with Capt. T.J. Ott, and FV-Tuna.com(“Dotcom”) with Capt. Dave Carraro, a five-time winner of the original series making his first appearance on the Outer Banks and reuniting with mate Paul Hebert.

Filmed on the Outer Banks, North Carolina, the breakout TV show spin off of the original Wicked Tuna that follows the exciting work of hardcore tuna fishermen on the Outer Banks, production of the new season began in January, once again shot mostly aboard the boats of the local and visiting captains from Gloucester until the region’s bluefin quota is met.

Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks Season 7 premieres with a special 90-minute episode starting at 8:30 p.m. this Sunday, June 28 on NatGeo. The Season Premiere episode will be preceded by a recap of Season 6 highlights at 7:30 p.m. Fishin’ Frenzy’s Captain Greg Mayer will also be participating in a live online Q&A at 8:00 p.m. on the Wicked Tuna Facebook page.
