The Dare County Department of Health and Human Services has received four new positive COVID-19 test results, bringing the total number of positive COVID-19 tests in Dare County now to 39, as of Monday (6/15/20) afternoon, all of which have been identified as non-residents.

The four new cases reported are identified on the county’s COVID-19 dashboard as three males and one female, each non-residents of Dare. Three of the new cases are in the age range of 18-24 and one is in the age range of 50-64, all of which are currently recovering in home isolation.

A third local drive-thru testing event will be announced later this month.

Local and state health officials continue to strongly encourage everyone to follow the 3 Ws – wear a cloth face covering if you will be with other people, wait at least six feet apart and avoid close contact with other people, and wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer.
