Weekend Movie Update – Jan. 25, 2019: Finding ‘Serenity’

The Wizard of Oz is back in theaters for one day only this weekend, while Matthew McConaughey looks for Serenity and a Kid inherits a kingdom.

Here’s your Outer Banks Movie Update for the weekend of Jan. 25, 2019!

The steamy new thriller Serenity (rated R) officially opens on Friday, playing locally at R/C Theatres in Kill Devil Hills, with an early preview screening tonight (Thursday) at 7:30pm.

Also new this week, the family adventure The Kid Who Would Be King (rated PG) opens on Friday, playing locally at R/C Theatres in Kill Devil Hills.

And of course the 1939 classic The Wizard of Oz is playing this Sunday, Jan. 27, at R/C Theatres in Kill Devil Hills for a special 80th anniversary event, and OBX Entertainment is hosting an Oz costume party in the lobby of the theater from 3:00 to 4:30pm this Sunday. Click here for more info.
