The locally filmed National Geographic Channel (NatGeo) reality competition series Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks is currently airing its fifth season, and we have a preview of this Sunday’s new episode, which airs at a special earlier time of 8pm.

In Episode 6, entitled “Redemption”, in the most competitive bluefin season yet, some boats are just getting their feet wet.

Filmed on the Outer Banks, North Carolina, the breakout TV show spin off of the original Wicked Tuna that follows the exciting work of hardcore tuna fishermen on the Outer Banks, production of the new season began in January, once again shot mostly aboard the boats of the local and visiting captains from Gloucester until the region’s bluefin quota is met.

Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks airs on Sunday at 9pm on NatGeo, but this week will air at a special earlier time of 8pm. The episode will be preceded by a new highlights show focusing on “Narrow Escapes”, featuring the top 20 disasters averted by crews over the first four seasons, starting at 7pm.

You can watch a preview of Episode 6, as well as highlights from the local premiere screening and Q&A panel with the local captains, below.
