43rd Annual Dare Day Kicks Off Summer in Manteo

The 43rd Annual Dare Day event returns to the downtown Manteo waterfront this weekend, featuring a full day of free fun and festivities for entire family.

Dare Day 2018 is happening in Manteo this Saturday, June 2, starting at 9am with the Blessing of the Season by Pastor Steve Wescott on the Magnolia Pavilion stage.

The day’s live musical entertainment kicks off with Graham Outten, followed throughout the day by Trinidad Ron on the steel drums, The Ramble, The Motley Tones, The Breeze Band, North Tower, Echoes of Heritage, The Ramble, and Nature Out Loud, with headliners The Deloreans and The Rhondels taking the stage later in the afternoon.

Making their Dare Day debut this year, The Motely Tones is a group of singing pirates that will perform on stage and stroll through the crowds during the day singing sea chanties and telling pirate tales.

The event will also include racing pigs, kids rides, craft and food vendors, blue ribbon competition, the Shadow Players, and the Capt. Jim Magic Show.

The fun is expected to continue until 6pm.

Dare Day is a free event for all ages.
