Posted By on March 18, 2017

Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia will soon be home of the first virtual reality motion simulator ride in North America.

The theme park announced today (March 18) that it will transform the former site of the Europe in the Air ride into an all new attraction that will utilize the latest virtual reality headsets and the existing state-of-the-art motion simulator, which is located in the “Ireland” section of Busch Gardens.

According to the official website, this marriage of technology will be able to take riders through a portal into a hidden world of mythical characters, set against an Irish theme.

The virtual reality headsets will replace the previously used video screens.

The new yet-to-be-named attraction will be the first of its kind in North America.

This virtual reality motion simulator ride is scheduled to open in the spring of 2018.

The newest attraction at Busch Gardens for 2017 is the wooden roller coaster InvadR, opening in April.
