Outer Banks Weekend Movie Update – Feb. 19, 2016: ‘The Witch’ Hunts

The Witch hunts a New England village, Jesus rises from the grave, and Jesse Owens runs the Race of his life in theaters this week, while Kung Fu Panda continues to kick it at The Pioneer.

Here’s your Outer Banks Movie Update for the weekend of Feb. 19, 2016!

The animated action comedy sequel Kung Fu Panda 3 (rated PG) is now playing at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo, where the film continues a two-week run (through Feb. 25).

Showtime at The Pioneer is 8pm nightly.

The year’s scariest movie so far is The Witch (rated R), about a dark evil invading a devoutly Christian family in 1630’s New England, opening Friday at R/C KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills, with a special preview screening tonight (Thursday) at 7:20pm.

On the other end of the spectrum, Jesus is resurrected following his crucifixion in the Biblical story Risen (rated PG13), also opening Friday at R/C KDH Movies 10, with a preview screening tonight (Thursday) at 7pm.

Race (rated PG13), tells the incredible true story of 1936 Olympic runner Jesse Owens, also opening Friday in Kill Devil Hills, with a preview screening tonight (Thursday) at 7:10pm.
