Posted By on June 4, 2015

Enjoy a local’s night out where all residents of Dare County are invited to attend The Lost Colony free of charge by making a donation of non-perishable items or dry goods to help food pantries in Dare County for these specially scheduled “Dare Night” performances, sponsored by E.R. Midgett Insurance, a proud supporter of this long standing community event.

The three “Dare Night” performances are Friday, June 5th, Friday June 12th, and Friday June 19th.

The show starts at 7:30pm, and guests are encouraged to arrive early to donate their food items and receive premium seating. Tickets will be assigned on a first-come-first-served basis.

Along with the food donations, proof of Dare County residency, such as a driver’s license, voter registration card, or utility bill are required to receive free tickets. There are no refunds given for inclement weather or rain outs on “Dare Nights.”

Pre-performance donation begins at 5:30pm.

Individual “Dare Nights” will benefit different food pantry’s including: Beach Food Pantry on Friday, June 5th, Mt. Olivet Food Pantry on Friday, June 12th, and Lifeboat Food Pantry on Friday, June 19th.

Recommended items for donation: canned vegetables, fruits, meats, soups and beans; tomato and pasta products; cereals; peanut butter and jelly; paper products such as toilet paper and paper towels; and pancake mix and syrup. “Dare Nights” are a wonderful way for Dare County citizens to give back to the community and to provide assistance to local families, as well as see The Lost Colony!

On June 5th, the first Dare Night, author of the critically acclaimed, award winning, and Amazon bestselling Threat Series fiction novels, Anthony Tata, will be hosting a book signing at the Waterside Theatre. His novel, Foreign and Domestic, takes place on the Outer Banks. Manteo local bookstore, Duck’s Cottage Downtown Books, is providing books for purchase on site. The Lost Colony is excited to extend an invitation to General Tata’s book signing to all guests that evening.
