Posted By on May 13, 2015

A milestone celebration is in the works as the Dare County Arts Council prepares to commemorate their 40th anniversary with an exciting gala this October.

Leading the 40th Anniversary gala effort is DCAC board member Avery Harrison, chair of the Ruby Renaissance Gala committee.  “DCAC’s founding in 1975 is an important moment worth celebrating. It’s an exciting time and I’m thrilled to help usher in this new era for the Arts Council. We’re experiencing a true renaissance in terms of growth by adding engaging new programs that touch on all art forms: writing, film, visual arts, music and more,” said Harrison. “The Ruby Renaissance Gala is truly an acknowledgement of the organization’s 40 years of achievements. But more importantly, it’s about focusing on the opportunities that lie ahead for the next 40 years.”

To create memorable, one-of-a-kind celebration, DCAC has enlisted a number of exceptional event professionals for the gala, including Nancy Harvey of Holiday House for décor and Black Pelican Oceanfront Restaurant & Catering Company for hospitality.  Greensboro-based bandWalrus, featuring former members of Ben Folds’ band, will perform at the gala.

Support for Dare County Arts Council’s 40th Anniversary is provided by dozens of local businesses and donors, led by Ruby Renaissance presenting sponsor, SAGA Construction & Development. “The connection between a healthy community and a vibrant arts scene has been demonstrated around the globe, generation after generation,” said SAGA Chief Executive Officer and DCAC board member Sumit Gupta. “We look at our sponsorship of Ruby Renaissance as a long-term investment in our area’s creative future, and we invite other Outer Banks businesses to join us in supporting DCAC.”

The Dare County Arts Council 40th Anniversary Ruby Renaissance Gala will take place on Saturday, October 24 at Pirate’s Cove Pavilion in Manteo.

Reservations for sponsored tables and tickets for Ruby Renaissance can be made by contacting DCAC at [email protected] or by calling (252) 473-5558. Tickets will be limited to 300 gala attendees.
