OBX Brewfest Adds Adventure Race To Weekend Events

Posted By on April 27, 2015

Producers of the inaugural OBX Brewfest have joined forces with Kitty Hawk Kayaks + Surf School and have announced a new addition to what is shaping up to be the official Outer Banks Craft Beer Weekend. In addition to the list of events planned surrounding the craft beer festival on May 31, the local outdoor recreation company will host the “Brewathlon Adventure Race.”

The race will include a 7-leg series of classic Outer Banks sports and leisure activities including surfing, stand up paddleboarding, horseshoes, kayaking, running, cornhole, BBQ and brews. Each physical activity will be followed by a game to keep it low stakes, unique and most of all, fun!

The race can be set up as a team event/relay, or a one man or one woman “Ironman” entrance. Prize packages will be awarded for the 1st, 2nd and 3rdplace finishers for the Team, Males and Female Divisions.

Participants will receive a Brewathlon Adventure Race t-shirt and admission to the after party at the finish line, conveniently located outside of Pamlico Jack’s in Nags Head. The party will feature a large backyard BBQ as well as some solid tunes from local surf-rockers, Zack Mexico.

Awards will be issued at the Official OBX Brewfest Kickoff Party at Trio that evening at 7pm.

Course map and additional details are available on the official Brewfest website, or by visiting the Kitty Hawk Kayaks + Surf School website.

Registration is open now and is extremely limited. Participants must be 21+. Entry fees are $25/person and $80/4-person relay team.
