Michael Keaton is Birdman in the performance of his career, arriving in local theaters this week, while time travel gets scary in Project Almanac, and Angelina Jolie’s Unbroken comes to the historic Pioneer.

Angelina Jolie (Wanted) directs Unbroken (rated PG13), about the true story of Olympian and war hero Louis “Louie” Zamperini, who survived on a raft for 47 days after a near-fatal plane crach during World War II, starting Friday (Jan. 30) at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo for a one-week run.

Michael Keaton (Batman) won this year’s Golden Globe Award for Best Actor for his performance in the comedy drama Birdman (rated R), starting this Friday at R/C KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil HIlls.
