Dare Arts Council Adds New Twist To December Decadence Fundraiser
The Dare County Arts Council’s annual end-of-year fundraiser returns on December 13, 2014, this time with a twist. The organization’s December Decadence event will take place at 108 Budleigh in Manteo and is being presented by Black Pelican and Holiday House.
A strong lineup of several culinary artists from throughout the area will be creating one-of-a-kind desserts in this unique show to benefit the DCAC. Local musicians, Aquarium, will perform, and Black Pelican will be providing heavy hors d’oeuvres throughout the night.
Prior to doors opening for the main event, the DCAC will host a champagne reception and open house in their building, located at 300 Queen Elizabeth Avenue in Manteo, which will also feature a performance by the Manteo High School Jazz Band.
The Arts Council’s Silent Auction will boast over thirty items, which have been donated by local businesses and artisans who are uniting for the cause.
Event Chair, Debbie Ferrell Moore says, “In addition to this being a celebration for a great cause, December Decadence will also be the only 12.13.14 in history! We can’t thank the artists and sponsors enough for making this incredibly unique function possible. We are excited to show everyone what we’ve been working on this year!”
A number of local lodging partners have offered generously discounted rates. Information on accommodations for the evening can be found at darearts.org. OBX Trolley will be providing complimentary shuttle service between the venue and the various accommodation locations.
Tickets are just $40 and include an evening full of music, heavy hors d’oeuvres, drinks and the chance to sample several edible creations as well as to cast a vote for your favorite artist. Call or visit DCAC to reserve your tickets today. Sponsor tables still remain. Email [email protected] or call 252.473.5558 for reservations.
