OBXE Halloween Parade of Costumes Announces "Drama Mama" Celebrity Judge!

OBXentertainment.com is excited to announce that Donna Roark, known affectionately to her local theater students as “Drama Mama”, will be a celebrity guest judge of our Costume Contest at the first ever OUTER BANKS HALLOWEEN PARADE OF COSTUMES, a free family-friendly event for kids and adults of all ages, coming to Kelly’s this Nags Head on Sunday, October 26!

Donna has 40 years of acting, directing,  and producing experience in theatre, with a double major in Speech/Language Disorders and Theatre, and she has directed the DC Shadow Players for 14 seasons. She is also director of the Dare County Children’s Theatre.

Roark joins previously announced celebrity guest judges Lance Culpepper, costume designer of the Discovery Channel series A Haunting and associate producer of The Lost Colony; and Missie Daniels, makeup designer for Wanchese Woods Haunted Trail.

In addition to the short (0.3-mile) walking parade around the Kelly’s property, prizes will be awarded for the Best Costumes in various categories/age groups, including Best Male and Female age 5 and under; Best Male and Female age 6-12; Best Male and Female age 13-adult; Best Couple; and Best Family/Group Costumes.

Everyone who registers to walk in the Parade will be entered into the Costume Contest, with the winners to be announced during an Awards Ceremony immediately following the Parade.

Award-winng singer/songwriter Jonny Waters will perform live beginning at 2pm, during the pre-Parade Halloween Festival, also featuring autographs and photos with Queen Elsa from Frozen and Michael Myers from Halloween, Trick or Treat booths by Outer Banks Fishing Charters, Jolly Roger Restaurant, PsychoPath Haunted Island,  and Wanchese Woods Haunted Trail, plus OBXjetpak and a real-life “Haunted Hearse” on display.

Food and beverages will be available for sale inside Kelly’s, and NFL football will be on TV in the tavern.

The Parade itself will begin at 3pm, with registration and live entertainment starting at 2pm at Kelly’s Outer Banks Restaurant and Tavern in Nags Head, North Carolina. You see the full lineup of events here.

Admission to this rain or shine event is free for anyone wearing a Halloween costume.
