Here’s your Outer Banks Movie Update for the weekend of February 21, 2014!

The family comedy The Nut Job (rated PG), starring Brendan Fraser (The Mummy) and Liam Neeson (Batman Begins), starts Friday at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo, playing for one week.

In the animated comedy, a mischievous squirrel and his rat friend plan a nut store heist of outrageous proportions and unwittingly find themselves embroiled in a much more complicated and hilarious adventure.

Showtime at The Pioneer is 8pm nightly.

The only new release playing locally this week is the action thriller 3 Days to Kill (rated PG13), starring Kevin Costner (Dances with Wolves, Man of Steel) and Amber Heard (The Ward, Rum Punch).
