Village Realty Announces 2013 Photo Contest Winners [Local Buzz]

The winners in the 5^th Annual Village Realty Outer Banks Photo Contest have been chosen.

The Grand Prize Winner is Amanda Robenolt from Austin, Ohio. She wins a free week during the off season in a Village Realty vacation home.

Robenolt’s photo (below) was entered in the Kids Category and was of two little girls, holding hands and looking out at the ocean. 

There were 11 categories including a new Video Category this year. Village Realty hosted the contest on their Facebook page and the five photos and videos receiving the most votes moved on to the semi-finalist stage. Then, the category winners were chosen by Village Realty employees. Finally, the Grand Prize Winners (video and photo) and the Runner Up (photo only) were decided by Village Realty employees and the help of several professional photographers on the Outer Banks.

Robenolt was notified by email that she was the Grand Prize Winner, and replied, “I first off want to thank you and Village Realty for having this contest.  My family and I couldn’t be more excited about winning the contest!  We have been coming to the OBX since I was 18 months old; I am now 31.  We can’t wait to plan another vacation with Village Realty. “

First Runner Up was Kim Black from Ruckersville, Virginia who entered a photo of an Outer Banks sunset. Black may choose between a two-night stay in a Village Realty home or a $300 gift certificate that may be used toward a future stay with Village Realty.  “Thank you very much,” she said. “It was an honor to be considered as a finalist.  Next year is my 30^th wedding anniversary and a beach trip would be perfect.” 

This is the fifth year that Village Realty has held this popular contest and the quality and variety of the photos received improves every year.  The 2014 OBX Photo and Video Contest will start in May and announced on the Village Realty Facebook page.
