Cinemax Reveals Trailer, Sets Premiere Date for NC-Filmed 'Banshee'

Filmed in and around Charlotte, North Carolina, Cinemax has set its new drama Banshee, from True Blood creator Alan Ball, to premiere in January, and has revealed the first full trailer and two teasers for the series.

Antony Starr (Rush), Ivana Milicevic (Charlie’s Angels), and Matt Servitto (Hitch), star in Banshee, along with Ulrich Thomsen (The Celebration), Frankie Faison (The Wire), Rus Blackwell (Recount), Ryann Shane (Blue Bloods), Lili Simmons (Geek Charming), Chelsea Cardwell (What to Expect When You’re Expecting), Michael Roark (Magic Mike), Odette Annable (Cloverfield), and Ben Cross (Star Trek).

Executive produced by Alan Ball (True Blood, Six Feet Under) and Greg Yaitanes (House, Lost), the action drama centers on an ex-convict and master thief (Antony Starr) who assumes the identity of the sheriff of Banshee, PA, where he continues his criminal activities even as he’s being hunted by the shadowy gangsters he had betrayed years earlier.

HBO-owned Cinemax began production on the series in and around Charlotte, NC in May and officially wrapped production on Season 1 in September.

Banshee will premiere on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 10pm on Cinemax.
