OBX Entertainment has Arrived!
OBXentertainment.com is the source for what’s happening on and around North Carolina’s Outer Banks, including music, movie, and surfing news, previews, reviews, and interviews for local residents, visitors, and entertainment fans worldwide!
This online magazine is the brainchild of the award-winning husband-wife team of Matt and Sue Artz, who share a combined total of more than a quarter-century of professional experience in the entertainment, journalism, and photography industries on the Outer Banks.
OBX Entertainment owner / editor-in-chief Matt Artz has been a professional journalist and photographer on the Outer Banks since 2000. He spent 10 years as the senior reporter and photographer for the Outer Banks’ oldest newspaper The Coastland Times, before officially launching ARTZ MUSIC & PHOTOGRAPHY with wife Sue Artz in 2006. He is also a lifelong movie buff, a pop culture historian, and a regular contributor to The North Beach Sun and Outer Banks Milepost magazines.
In 2003, during the Centennial of Flight celebration, a collection of photographs by Matt Artz were selected to be included in a time capsule that was dedicated and buried at the base of the Monument to a Century of Flight in Kitty Hawk, not to be opened again until the year 2103.
Sue Artz is a classically trained concert violinist and award-winning DJ with over three decades of on-stage performance experience. She is also former vice president of the Outer Banks Wedding Association and a 2002 winner on the popular television game show Wheel of Fortune.
Through their locally owned and operated business ARTZ MUSIC & PHOTOGRAPHY, Sue and Matt received the ‘Best of Weddings’ Award from The Knot in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014; the ‘Bride’s Choice’ Award from Wedding Wire in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017.

NCfilmNews.com was launched in May 2012 as a partner site, focusing on the film and television production industry in North Carolina.
In 2014, the OBX Entertainment brand expanded to launch the Outer Banks’s first all-original entertainment news web series OBXE TV and the annual Outer Banks Halloween Parade, followed by the Halloween International Film Festival in Kill Devil Hills starting in 2016, featuring independent films and special guest filmmakers from around the around.
