Watch a Crazy Catch in ‘Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks’ Season 7 Exclusive Clip

The locally filmed National Geographic Channel (NatGeo) reality competition series Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks returns for its seventh season this weekend, and we have an exclusive clip from this Sunday’s Season Premiere for you to check out.

The Season 7 premiere episode is entitled “Clash of the Titans”, and will feature the return of local four-time winner Capt. Greg Mayer of the Fishin’ Frenzy, as well as last year’s Season 6 winner Capt. Bobby Earl of the Reel E’ Bugging, along with the Little Shell with Capt. Nick Gowitzka, the Rasta Rocket with Capt. Zack Shackleton, and Gloucester favorites Pinwheel with Capt. Tyler McLaughlin, Hot Tuna with Capt. T.J. Ott, and FV-Tuna.com with Capt. Dave Carraro, a five-time winner of the original series making his first appearance on the Outer Banks.

In the exclusive clip, which you can watch below, Captain Nick Gowitzka of the local boat Little Shell seeks to bring home his first fish of the season utilizing a green stick (a specialized pole used for trolling) that connects multiple drop lines to one main “control line”. When a fish hits one of Little Shell’s drops, each subsequent drop must be brought in carefully, so as not to lose the fish altogether. But when the line starts coming in, it’s clear that the lines have tangled. As the crew works to undo the mess, they must simultaneously work together to bring the tuna to the boat.

Filmed on the Outer Banks, North Carolina, the breakout TV show spin off of the original Wicked Tuna that follows the exciting work of hardcore tuna fishermen on the Outer Banks, production of the new season began in January, once again shot mostly aboard the boats of the local and visiting captains from Gloucester until the region’s bluefin quota is met.

Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks Season 7 premieres with a special 90-minute episode starting at 8:30 p.m. this Sunday, June 28 on NatGeo. The Season Premiere episode will be preceded by a recap of Season 6 highlights at 7:30 p.m.
