2019 Kelly’s St. Patrick’s Parade Highlights [Video / Photo Gallery]

The 30th Annual Kelly’s St. Patrick’s Parade returned to Nags Head for a beautiful St. Patrick’s Day celebration earlier today (March 17, 2019).

Founded Mike Kelly, owner of Pamlico Jack’s and Mako’s restaurants, the popular event is billed as the largest St. Patrick’s celebration in North Carolina. The traditional one-mile parade route was cut about a half-mile short this year, due to Nags Head’s ongoing stormwater improvements near the Gallery Row area. As a result, the parade terminated Admiral Street.

The parade began at approximately 1:00pm, as the clear blue skies brought thousands out of spectators to cheer on the procession as it marched up the NC 12 beach road.

The parade was followed by an official after party at Mako’s Beach Grille and Bar in Kill Devil Hills, with free hot dogs and a karaoke with DJ Hambone.
