Celebrate St. Patrick’s Weekend on the Outer Banks

St. Patrick’s Day is this Sunday, but there will be no shortage of green-themed events celebrating Irish holiday all weekend on the Outer Banks.

In addition the annual St. Patrick’s Parade on Sunday, here’s our roundup of what else is happening this weekend.

Mako’s Beach Grille and Bar in Kill Devil Hills (formerly Mako Mike’s) is hosting a St. Patrick’s Pre-Party on Saturday night, March 16, with live entertainment by DJ Fresh starting at 10:00pm. Mako’s is located at 1630 North Croatan Highway on the US 158 bypass.

Secret Island Restaurant and Entertainment is kicking off their St. Patrick’s celebration with the popular Virginia Beach-based reggae band Sopaz live on stage on Saturday night, March 16, starting at 10:00pm. Secret Island (formerly Port O’ Call) is located at 504 South Virginia Dare Trail on the NC 12 beach road in Kill Devil Hills.

The 30th Annual Kelly’s St. Patrick’s Parade returns to Nags Head on St. Patrick’s Day 2019. Parade founder Mike Kelly recently confirmed to OBX Entertainment that the popular parade, billed as the largest St. Patrick’s celebration in North Carolina, will return to its traditional route along the NC 12 beach road (South Virginia Dare Trail) in Nags Head on Sunday, March 17, 2019. The parade procession begins at 1:00pm, rain or shine.

While the parade march will follow its usual route starting from Bladen Street (near milepost 11.5) and going north, it will end approximately a half-mile earlier than normal, at Admiral Street, due to stormwater improvement construction that is ongoing in the Gallery Row area.

Following the parade, the official after party is happening at Mako’s Beach Grille and Bar in Kill Devil Hills, with free hot dogs and a DJ.

Jolly Roger Restaurant in Kill Devil Hills is serving up St. Patrick’s Day specials of corn beef and cabbage all day on Sunday, March 17, with lunch for $8.95 and dinner for $12.95. Jolly Roger is located at 1836 North Virginia Dare Trail on the NC 12 beach road.
