‘Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks’ Season 5 Ep. 2-3 Preview

Posted By on July 5, 2018

The locally filmed National Geographic Channel (NatGeo) reality competition series Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks is back for its fifth season tonight, and we have a preview of the second of this Sunday’s two(!) new episodes.

Episode 2, entitled “Wildest Weather’, will feature highlights of the worst weather events to occur during the past seasons, as various crew members have a talk about the ways in which they faced these events in order to ensure they were still able to complete their goals while out at sea.

In Episode 3, entitled “Not in Our Backyard”, a hard struggle to catch back up is faced by the boats that are in the North, and they turn to the ships in the Southern fleet to see if they can offer help, but they quickly realize that there is little to no hurry for the crews to lend a hand.

Filmed on the Outer Banks, North Carolina, the breakout TV show spin off of the original Wicked Tuna that follows the exciting work of hardcore tuna fishermen on the Outer Banks, production of the new season began in January, once again shot mostly aboard the boats of the local and visiting captains from Gloucester until the region’s bluefin quota is met.

A double feature of Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks Season 5 episodes 2 and 3 will air this Sunday starting an hour earlier than normal at 8pm on NatGeo.

You can watch a preview of Episode 3, as well as highlights from the local premiere screening and Q&A panel with the local captains, below.
