The acclaimed director of The Dark Knight trilogy goes to war in theaters this week, while a group of girlfriends takes a wild Trip, and the epic Valerian goes galactic.

Director Christopher Nolan goes to war with ‘Dunkirk’.

Already earning rave reviews as possibly the best movie of the year, Christopher Nolan directs the true story thriller Dunkirk (rated PG13), opening on Friday (July 21), playing locally at R/C Theatres in Kill Devil Hills, with special preview screenings happening tonight (Thursday) at 6:50 and 10:10pm.

Also new this week, another massive sci-fi epic from the director of The Fifth ElementValerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (rated PG13) opens Friday at R/C Theatres in Kill Devil Hills, with preview screenings tonight (Thursday) at 5, 7:20, and 9:40pm.

The new comedy Girls Trip (rated R) also opens Friday at R/C Theatres, with preview screenings tonight (Thursday) at 7:50 and 10:20pm.
