Weekend Movie Update – Sept. 30, 2016: ‘Masterminds’ of NC

An all star comedic lineup brings the North Carolina-filmed Masterminds into theaters this week, while Tim Burton visits a Home for Peculiar Children, Kurt Russell fights a Deepwater fire, and Sully lands at The Pioneer.

Here’s your Outer Banks Movie Update for the weekend of September 30, 2016!

Tom Hanks stars in the real life drama Sully (rated PG13) starting a two-week run  at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo on Friday, playing through Oct. 13.

Showtime at The Pioneer is 8pm nightly.

Filmed in and around Charlotte and western North Carolina, the comedy Masterminds (rated PG13) features an all star cast including Wilkesboro, NC native Zach Galfianakis, Owen Wilson, Kristen Wiig, and Jason Sudeikis, opening Friday at RC Theatres in Kill Devil Hills, with a preview screening tonight (Thursday) at 7:30pm.
