Patriotic Concert To Let Freedom Ring

Outer Banks Presbyterian Church will hold their 9th Annual “Let Freedom Ring” musical concert on Sunday, July 3 at 5pm. 

Featured will be the 70-voice sanctuary choir, 16-piece orchestra and guest singers.  Musical Director, Jason Evans, will be coordinating the event with guest conductor, Kyle Cook, directing the choir and orchestra.  The program will begin with an orchestral prelude of patriotic favorites.  Following the prelude, there will be several congregational hymns, the presentation of colors by the American Legion Fort Raleigh Post 26 Color Guard, The Star Spangled Banner as well as other patriotic anthems.

The program will consist of a medley of the theme songs for each branch of the Armed Forces recognizing those who are serving and those who have served.

The final portion of the program, We Honor Those Who Serve and have Served,  is designed to recognize all who have served our country and a presentation of a small token of our appreciation and will incorporate the well-loved patriotic song by Lee Greenwood, God Bless the U.S.A.

A host of singers and musicians will join with the choir of OBPC in making this an evening to remember! The musicians will include Steve Blackstock, organ; Jason Evans, piano; David Hopson, drums; Clint McClanahan, bass, Reid Stockdill, timpani/percussion; Suzanne Blackstock and Katie Blanchard, flutes; Christi Briggs, Clarinet; Sue Waters, Shannah Boone and Billy Tanner, violins; Timothy Briggs, cello; Alexis Sparkties, french horn; Pat McGee and Dylan Kruziki, trumpets and Bradley Schaefer, trombone.  Soloists in the program are Pamela Tanner, Jonathan Lowery and Lew Gregory.

The community is cordially invited to attend.  A nursery will be provided on site during each presentation.  Outer Banks Presbyterian Church is located at 907 S. Croatan Highway in Kill Devil Hills at Milepost 8.5.  There is no charge for admission; however, a freewill love offering will be accepted.
