Motley Crue brought their “Final Tour” to the Farm Bureau Live Amphitheatre in Virginia Beach last night (August 20), with special guest Alice Cooper, giving the excited audience a heavy metal farewell they will never forget.

The legendary Alice Cooper kicked off the night with a one-hour set of all his best loved hits, including “No More Mr. Nice Guy”, “I’m Eighteen”, “Billion Dollar Babies”, and “Welcome to My Nightmare”, which he sang with a live snake around his neck.

Cooper pulled out some of his classic theatrics on stage in Virginia Beach, including being transformed into a giant monster during “Feed My Frankenstein”, and later having his head chopped off via guillotine.

The Crue opened the main event with “The Saints of Los Angeles”, an ode to their hometown, and proceeded to tear through about 90 minutes of crowd pleasing favorites, mostly from their first decade of decadence, including “Live Wire”, “Shout at the Devil”, “Looks That Kill”, “Smoking in the Boys Room”, and “Wild Side”.

For the old school fans, a highlight of the evening was when Motley broke out two often forgotten songs from their 1981 debut album, the moody “On with the Show” and the album’s title track “Too Fast for Love”.

Tommy Lee’s drum solo took him to new heights, literally, as his drum kit moved up a roller coaster track to bring Lee high above the audience, rotating upside down throughout his hip-hop flavored spotlight performance.

There were scantily clad female dancers, who took center stage during “Girls, Girls, Girls”, and there was massive pyrotechnic explosions of fire, lasers, and smoke, and all that was before bassist Nikki Sixx heated it up even more with his awesome flame thrower bass.

After rocking their way through “Dr. Feelgood”, “Primal Scream”, and the anthemic “Kickstart My Heart”, Motley Crue said goodbye with a farewell performance of probably the greatest rock ballad every recorded, the sing-along friendly classic “Home Sweet Home”, promising that these four original members of one of rock’s most influential bands of all time is finally “coming off that long and winding road”.

In addition to some truly great performances, both acts surprised the audience by taking the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge live on stage at the end of the each of their sets, and we have it all on video for you to check out, starting with Alice in the player below!

Cooper then challenged actor Johnny Depp and his tour-mates Motely Crue to take the challenge next, and the Crue did not disappoint.

Not only did all four band members take the challenge just prior to their encore, they also donated an additional $10,000 to the cause, and then they challenged the bands Aerosmith, Kiss, and Def Leppard to do the same. Check it out below!
