Spider-Man swings back into theaters this week, while a Divergent future takes over at The Pioneer.

 Playing at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo, Divergent (rated PG13) hopes to be the new Hunger Games, offering up a new vision of a dystopian future, also based on the poplar young adult novel of the same name.

Marvel’s most popular superhero returns this week in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (rated PG13), starting Thursday night with preview screenings at R/C KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills and officially opening Friday, showing in both 2D and 3D formats.

Reuniting Andrew Garfield (The Social Network) and Emma Stone (Zombieland) from the last Spider-Man film, the sequel also throws in Jamie Foxx (Ray) as Electro, Paul Giamatti (Sideways) as Rhino, and University of North Carolina School of Arts graduate Dane Dehaan (Chronicle) as Harry Osborne/The Green Goblin.
