Weekend Movie Update – Nov. 1, 2013: Let The 'Game' Begin
Harrison Ford returns to space for a new Game this week in theaters, while a vintage crew of Hollywood heavyweights has one last trip to Vegas, some turkeys try to alter Thanksgiving history, and Sandra Bullock defies Gravity in the performance of a lifetime at The Pioneer.

‘Ender’s Game’ begins in theaters this week.
Premiering this Friday at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo for a one week run is the soon-to-be-classic groundbreaking epic drama Gravity (rated PG13) starring Sandra Bullock (Blind Side) and George Clooney (Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?) as astronauts who are lift adrift alone in space after their shuttle is destroyed.

Leading this week’s new releases is another space epic, though this one is more in the tradition of Avatar and Star Wars, as Ender’s Game (rated PG13) hopes to start a new adventure franchise set in the near future.

The new comedy Last Vegas (rated PG13) brings together Robert De Niro (Goodfellas), Michael Douglas (Romancing the Stone), Kevin Kline (Silverado), and Morgan Freeman (The Dark Knight) as aging best friends who head to the City of Sin for one last blow out.

Finally, Free Birds (rated PG) hopes to give Thanksgiving its own long-overdue family classic, about two turkeys who travel back to the year 1621 to prevent their feathered friends from ever becoming the traditional holiday dinners of choice in the first place.
