Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station PBS Air Date Announced

PBS affiliate UNC-TV was in the area in AprilĀ filming a special featuring the Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station Historic Site and Museum, and now the air date has just been announced.

On the National Register of Historic Places, the Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station is the largest, most complete United States Life Saving Service (USLSS) complex in the country.

The first operational station in North Carolina, it is one of only two 1874 USLSS stations in the nation open to the public.

The Special featuring the Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station will premiere on Thursday, June 20 at 9pm, and will air again the following day, on Friday, June 21 at 8:30pm on local PBS affiliate UNC-TV.
