ECU Presents Kids Jazz Workshop At Roanoke Island Festival Park

East Carolina University presents a special Jazz Excursion and Workshop just for kids at Roanoke Island Festival Park this month.

The ECU Jazz Ensemble will be in town for a concert as part of Festival Park’s 2013 Performance Series on the evening of April 20, but earlier that afternoon they will be inside the Film Theatre at Festival Park hosting an event that will include performances of some contemporary and tradition jazz tailored for kids, with crowd participation.

In addition, the workshop will feature an introduction and up close experience with the instruments.

Demonstrations by the performers will include seeing and hearing the instruments first hand, exploring what sounds they make, how they are played, and more.

The ECU Kids Jazz Excursion and Workshop will take place on Saturday, April 20, at 2pm at inside the Film Theatre at Roanoke Island Festival Park in Manteo.

Tickets to this event are $5 for ages six and up, and free for those five and under, and they can be purchased in advance at Festival Park or on the day of the event.
