Outer Banks Weekend Movie Update – March 23, 2012

The world really is watching. The biggest movie of the year (so far) arrives in theaters this week in the form of a teen reality TV competition to the death in the much anticipated futuristic action epic The Hunger Games – which was filmed on location throughout North Carolina.

Here’s your Outer Banks movie update for the weekend of March 23, 2012!

The Hunger Games

Manteo’s historic Pioneer Theatre hosts the comedy This Means War (rated PG13) starring Reese Witherspoon (Sweet Home Alabama), Chris Pine (Star Trek), and Tom Hardy (Inception).

Based on the best-selling novel, the much anticipated screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games (rated PG13) opens Friday at KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills. It has already broken pretty much all ticket pre-sale records and is recieving extremely postive reviews from critics, promising one of the biggest box office hits of all time.

The film – the first in a planned trilogy – stars the 2nd youngest actress ever nominated for an Oscar, Jennifer Lawrence (Winter’s Bone, X-Men: First Class), and it was filmed in North Carolina.
