Dare County Announces New Animal Shelter Virtual Ribbon-Cutting [UPDATED]

Dare County, in partnership with the Outer Banks SPCA, will host a virtual ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the brand new Dare County Animal Shelter on Friday, March 19 Wednesday, March 31.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions on gatherings, the event is not open to the public; however, the ceremony will be livestreamed online to allow the public to tune in to the festivities.

The livestream will begin at 11:00 a.m. on March 31 on the county’s YouTube channel at www.YouTube.com/DareCounty.

A video of the ceremony will also be made available on the Dare County YouTube channel after the ceremony for those who are unable to watch it live.

Construction of the new facility, which is located at 378 Airport Road in Manteo, began in September 2020 and was completed earlier this month.
