Dare Now Offering COVID-19 Vaccine to All Healthcare Workers and Anyone Age 65+

Posted By on January 15, 2021

Yesterday, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services announced changes to their COVID-19 Vaccine Prioritization Phases. Under the new plan, all healthcare workers and individuals 65 years of age and older may now receive the vaccine. As a result, Dare County is now accepting Vaccine Appointment Requests for these individuals.

If you are a healthcare worker or at least 65 years of age, you may submit a request for a Vaccination Appointment at www.darenc.com/Register4Vaccine or by calling the COVID-19 call center at 252-475-5008.

The Dare County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) receives a limited supply of vaccine on a weekly basis from the state and will schedule appointments for individuals from the appropriate Phase as the vaccine supply allows. Based on the anticipated number of individuals in this phase, the DHHS anticipate it could take 6-8 weeks before all individuals in these Prioritization Phases who wish to be vaccinated receive one.

For more information or details on the various Phases and who falls under which Phase, visit www.darenc.com/covidvaccine.

  1. This is a terrible site and some people will find it very difficult to use. I worked in the technology industry for 40 years and consider myself reasonably tech literate. It still confused me. It requires you to hold your phone sideways to e able to see all the information. It is super slow, almost as slow as dial up if like me you can remember that. No email acknowledging a submission. Good luck.
