2020 OBX Halloween Film Festival Lineup Announced, Tickets on Sale

The 5th Annual Halloween International Film Festival goes virtual, streaming online on October 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, 2020, featuring more than 30 Official Selections from around the world, presented by Halloween Daily News.

The festival screenings will stream digitally with a limited watch availability window according to a schedule, just like the in-person version, geo-blocked for viewers only in the U.S. and hosted on the Eventive online platform, which offers enhanced security, including the same studio-grade DRM technology used by Netflix and Disney+. This format will function on various internet browsers, mobile devices, native TV apps, Roku, Apple TV, Android TV, and more, ensuring compatibility and comfort for an ideal at-home viewing experience.

Feature film Official Selections include the North Carolina anthology Fever Dreams and the dark comedy The Day After Halloween on opening night, the World Premiere of the Canadian thriller Cult of Nightmares and the hilariously bloody Salem witch hunt Mass Hysteria on Friday night, followed by the throwback slasher The Bloody Man starring Tuesday Knight and the timely and twisted Ten Minutes to Midnight starring Caroline Williams on Saturday, culminating with the closing night World Premiere of the haunted Halloween tale They Live Inside Us.

In addition to the feature films, there will be a total of 26 short film Official Selections screened over the three days, including a block of North Carolina-filmed shorts, an international block, a comedy block, two horror blocks, and a Halloween block.

Of particular note to local audiences, the opening film of the entire festival is Backward Creep, a short that was shot in North Carolina and will soon be adapted into a feature-length production that will be filmed here on the Outer Banks.
