Kill Devil Hills Shooting Suspect Arrested
A local resident was arrested today (8/12/20) for a shooting the happened earlier this week in Kill Devil Hills.
The Kill Devil Hills Police Department reports that on Sunday, August 9, at approximately 9:01 p.m., Kill Devil Hills Police were dispatched to a 911 call involving a shooting incident in the 300 block of West Third Street. The caller advised that their friend had been shot in the leg and the shooter had fled the scene.
The suspect in this case, Isaias E. DePaul, 24, of Kill Devil Hills, was arrested this afternoon and charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury . Through an arrangement with his attorney, DePaul turned himself in peacefully. He was transported to the Dare County Detention Center and placed under a $20,000 secured bond.
The Kill Devil Hills Police Department expressed thanks to the Nags Head Police Department, the Dare County Sheriff’s Office, and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) Fugitive and Missing Person Task Force, who were instrumental in the search for the suspect, which helped bring pressure on DePaul to surrender himself.
