UPDATE: Dare Reports 9 New Positive COVID-19 Cases on June 22nd

The Dare County Department of Health and Human Services has received seven eight new positive COVID-19 test results today, bringing the total number now to 56 57 58, as of Monday (6/22/20) afternoon.

These most recent cases include a female resident in the 50-64 age range and a male resident in the 25-49 age range, bot of which are recovering in home isolation. Today’s new cases also include six seven non-residents of Dare, identified as a male and female, both age 17 or under, and a male age 18-24, each transferred to their home counties, as well as an additional male age 17 or under recovering in isolation in Dare, a male age 18-24 and two females and one male all in the 50-64 age range and isolating in Dare.

Of the 58 total positive COVID-19 test results reported in Dare, 29 are local residents and 29 are non-residents, while 28 are male and 30 are female.

A third local community testing clinic event, to include diagnostic and antibody testing has been announced for Tuesday, June 30 at the Dare County Parks and Recreation facility in Kill Devil Hills.

Cloth face masks or coverings are mandatory to be worn in any public spaces where social distancing can’t be maintained in Dare County.

Local and state health officials continue to strongly encourage everyone to follow the 3 Ws – wear a cloth face covering if you will be with other people, wait at least six feet apart and avoid close contact with other people, and wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer.
