Roanoke Island Festival Park Hosts Educational Programs Through Sept. 6
Roanoke Island Festival Park invites the public to participate in its educational summer programs every Tuesday – Friday through September 6 at the park.
Guests can immerse themselves in 16th century history through fun and interactive demonstrations located at various site attractions. Haul the bowline, furl the sails and participate in the gun firing on the Elizabeth II. Visit the Settlement Site for a match lock small arms demonstration twice a day.
Guests can also learn how to make rope with Captain Robbie in the Adventure Museum.
All are invited to come out and explore, discover, play and learn this summer at Roanoke Island Festival Park.
The summer programs are included in the general admission ticket.
Park admission is $11 foradults, $8 for ages 3-17 and free for ages 2 and under. The park is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. this summer.
Summer Programs Schedule:
10:30 am – Sail Drill on the Elizabeth II
11:00 am – Small Arms Demo in the Settlement Site
12:00 pm – Gun Drill on the Elizabeth II
2:30 pm – Rope Making in the Adventure Museum with Captain Robbie
3:30 pm – Furl Sail Drill on the Elizabeth II
4:00 pm – Small Arms Demon in the Settlement Site
