Roanoke Island Festival Park is pleased to announce the upcoming performance schedule for its 2019 Children’s Show Summer Series.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at the park’s Ticket Sales venue in advance or the day of the show.

This year’s performances are sponsored in part by Towne Bank and Friends of Elizabeth II.

Talented actors, magicians and musicians will perform kid friendly shows throughout the summer in the indoor film theatre at Roanoke Island Festival Park.

The series takes place June 26 – August 1 with new shows held every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. and Thursday at
10:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. (no evening show on July 4).

Tickets are $5 per show and ages 2 and under are free. Guests that purchase a park ticket along with a show ticket are eligible for the Park and Performance Pass and will receive a discounted admission rate to the park.

The series kicks off with Little Red and the Big Bully Wolf presented by Bright Star Theatre on June 26 and 27. Audiences can follow Little Red and her friends as they learn to face their fears and stand up to the bully wolf.

The month of July begins with a children’s concert performed by kid and parent friendly rock/pop band, Big Bang Boom.

The middle of July will feature two musical performances starring classic children’s book characters. Audiences can see these beloved characters come to life in A Peter Rabbit Tale performed by Mill Mountain Theatre and
Winnie the Pooh performed by UNCP Theatre.

Fan favorite, Hayden the Magician (formerly known as Haydini) will round out the month with a new magic show featuring illusions and card tricks on July 24 and 25.

The series will conclude with a science-based show, FrankenSTEM, performed by Bright Star Theatre on July 31 and August 1. This entertaining and educational show follows Dr. Frank N. Stein as he discovers his love for all things STEM.

“We are pleased to offer this unique, family friendly experience and are looking forward to another great year,” said Kim Sawyer, Executive Director at Roanoke Island Festival Park.
