The annual Halloween International Film Festival will return to Kill Devil Hills, October 3-5, 2019, presented by Halloween Daily News and OBX Entertainment.

The Submission Period opened on Monday, Dec. 10, 2018, accepting independent films from around the world for consideration to be selected for screening at the 2019 festival, exclusively through FilmFreeway. The Final Deadline for all submissions is June 30.

Locally-produced (Outer Banks) films are eligible for an entry fee waiver upon request, and those filmmakers should contact festival organizers at [email protected] prior to submitting. All filmmakers are invited to use the discount code “HalloweenDaily” for 20% off the entry fee on FilmFreeway.

Held on the historic Outer Banks, site of the Wright Brothers’ first flight and home of America’s first urban legend, the Lost Colony of Roanoke Island, this destination event features three days of independent genre films from around the world, as well as networking opportunities and extensive media exposure.

Festival film screenings will once again be shown at R/C Theatres Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills, including Q&A sessions, nightly meet and greets, photo ops on our Orange Carpet, and more. Our state-of-the-art host venue features a massive 36-foot tall movie screen, stadium seating, full digital projection capabilities, and a complete lineup of refreshments and snacks available.

All Official Selections will receive publicity on HalloweenDailyNews.com and all festival Q&As and panels will be broadcast to more than 66,000 subscribers on the Halloween Daily News YouTube channel, and will be exposed to a reach of more than a million genre fans through the expanded Halloween Daily News network and social media.

Tickets will go on sale this summer, and the schedule of film screenings, meet and greets, after parties, and more will be announced in August.

Founded in 2016, the Halloween International Film Festival is a Gold-ranked festival on the world’s leading film festival submission platform, FilmFreeway.

Previous Official Selections include the award-winning locally filmed shorts Lost in Buffalo City, Boy!, and Night of the Fluffet.

Official 2019 sponsors include The Outer Banks Visitors Bureau, Larry Hobbs, and Halloween Daily News.
