The locally filmed National Geographic Channel (NatGeo) reality competition series Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks is currently airing its fifth season, and we have two previews of this Sunday’s new episode.

In Episode 9, entitled “Northern Fury”, Captain T.J. Ott of the Hot Tuna has something to prove, as the northern boats are doing better than ever this year so far.

Filmed on the Outer Banks, North Carolina, the breakout TV show spin off of the original Wicked Tuna that follows the exciting work of hardcore tuna fishermen on the Outer Banks, production of the new season began in January, once again shot mostly aboard the boats of the local and visiting captains from Gloucester until the region’s bluefin quota is met.

Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks airs on Sunday at 9pm on NatGeo, preceded this week by a new highlights show called “Mate Moments”, featuring a countdown of the best and worst crew moments from the previous four seasons, starting at 8pm.

You can watch a preview and a clip from Episode 9, as well as highlights from the local premiere screening and Q&A panel with the local captains, below.
