Riff Tides Bringing Early Rock Hits to St. Andrew’s in Nags Head
The local band The Riff Tides will be live in concert at a special Eastern Carolina Concert Society event happening on Sunday, February 18, starting at4pm at St. Andrew’s By-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Nags Head.
The Riff Tides bring a very special brand of music to the Outer Banks. The band features music of the early days of Rock and Roll through the early 60’s.
Their play list is like taking a tour of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; starting with the early classics of Bill Haley, Elvis, The Platters, Fats Domino, and traveling up to the Drifters and even a few early Beatle tunes.
Keeping this music alive are six very talented local vocalists/musicians. The group features three lead vocalists: Kent Zimmerman (Baritone), Dana Walker (Soprano), and Angelo Sonnesso (Tenor/Keyboard), as well as instrumentalists Andrew Darling (Bass and Guitar), Ken Daidone (Drums), and Paul Lesiewicz (Sax).
This performance will also feature Rick Eller on Drums. Rick is the Drummer for the Aquarium’s own band “Nature Out Loud” and the very popular “Just Playing Dixieland”.
All of these talented individuals have their own outstanding musical resume and personal love for this musical era.
The Eastern Carolina Concert Society (ECCS), a 501(C)(3) organization, was established in 2002 to highlight local talent. Concerts are free but donations welcomed.
