Weekend Movie Update – Dec. 20, 2017: ‘Showman’ Leads Christmas Releases
In the wake of this past weekend’s massive opening of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, there are a ton of new releases vying for your Christmas holiday time that are arriving in theaters this week.
Here’s your Outer Banks Movie Update for the extended Christmas weekend, starting today, Dec. 20, 2017!
Starring Hugh Jackman as P.T. Barnum and based on the true story of origins of Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus, The Greatest Showman (rated PG) opens today (Wednesday, Dec. 20) at R/C Theatres in Kill Devil Hills.

The sequel/reboot of the classic comedy, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (rated PG13) puts the players of an adventure video game inside the game, rather than bringing the game into the real word as the original film did, also opening today (Wednesday, Dec. 20) at R/C Theatres in Kill Devil Hills.

The musical sequel Pitch Perfect 3 (rated PG13) officially opens on Friday at R/C Theatres in Kill Devil Hills, with preview screenings on Thursday (Dec. 21) at 7:30 and 9:50pm.
