Epic Gathering of Local Talent to Play Benefit Concert for Chris Whitehurst

Posted By on September 28, 2017

An epic gathering local talent will be performing live this weekend at a massive benefit concert happening at the Outer Banks Brewing Station in Kill Devil Hills to help area resident and longtime sound engineer Chris Whitehurst in his recovery from cancer.

The 12-hour concert event begins at 2pm this Sunday, Oct. 1, and will jam on until after last call at 2am, with a total of nine bands on multiple stages throughout the day. You can see the full lineup below.

Chris Whitehurst has been recovering from treatment for colorectal cancer and being treated for Endocarditis, an infection on the aortic valve of his heart. He has had a couple successful surgeries and is on the road to recovery, but additional medical treatments and healing are still ahead on Chris’s path back to health.

If you aren’t able to make it to the benefit, you may also donate directly to Chris’s recovery through his Go Fund Me page here.

In addition to the live music, there will also be raffles, a silent auction, fire dancers, hula hoopers, live art, kids games, and more.

The concert benefit for Chris Whitehurst is happening this Sunday, Oct. 1, from 2pm to 2am at the Outer Banks Brewing Station in Kill Devil Hills.

There will be a $5 cover charge for admission, which will go directly to Whitehurst, and the Brewing Station is also donating 10% of sales for the day to help this cause.
