Nags Head Elementary School 2017 Halloween Pumpkin Fair Announced

The Halloween season is nearly upon us here on the Outer Banks, and one of this year’s kickoff events will be the annual Great Pumpkin Fair at Nags Head Elementary School, where everyone is invited to pick out their pumpkins and fall decor, and enjoy a family-oriented festival on Saturday, October 7, from 10am until 3pm.

Choose from hundreds of pumpkins and other fall decorating items such as mums, gourds and corn stalks. Help will be available for loading your selections into your car.

Also at the fair will be games and activities for kids, including bounce houses and mechanical rides, a rock wall, tattoos, a cupcake walk and so much more. Plan to stay for lunch with food and treats from local food vendors plus a bake sale.

New this year is a live auction in addition to a chance auction. Additionally, Nags Head Elementary School PTO is selling raffle tickets. A $50 raffle ticket enters you to win a brand new 2017 Toyota Corolla, two Electra beach cruiser bikes or a 55” flat-screen TV. These tickets are available in the NHES office, and only 800 are being sold. A $1 raffle ticket, available from any NHES student, offers a number of prizes provided by local businesses.

Kicking off the festival is the Great Pumpkin Run, a 1-mile fun run/walk starting and ending at Nags Head Elementary School at 9:45 a.m. Cost is $10 if you register in advance at obxgofar.org and $15 on the day of. Registration begins at 9:15am.

Proceeds from the Pumpkin Fair support the programs and projects of the Nags Head Elementary School PTO.
