Marvel Debuts New ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Trailer
A new official trailer for Marvel’s upcoming fantasy adventure Thor: Ragnarok debuted tonight at San Diego Comic-Con, featuring more footage of the sequel, which also sees the return of the Incredible Hulk.
This will be Marvel’s third Thor movie, following the 2011 self titled original and its 2013 sequel Thor: The Dark World, all of which is of course firmly connected to the larger “shared” Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) that also includes The Avengers, The Guardians of the Galaxy, Dr. Strange, and Spider-Man.
Chris Hemsworth is back as the titular God of Thunder, along with Mark Ruffalo reprising his role as Bruce Banner/The Hulk. In addition to Cate Blanchett joining the festivities as the Goddess of Death Hela, Tessa Thompson also joins in on the fun as Valkyrie, and Jeff Goldblum debuts as The Grandmaster of Sakaar. Tom Hiddleston also returns as Thor’s mischievous brother Loki.
The official synopsis: Imprisoned on the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against the Hulk, his former ally and fellow Avenger. Thor’s quest for survival leads him in a race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home world and the Asgardian civilization.
Thor: Ragnarok opens in theaters on November 3.
