Killer Dunes 2-Miler And Fun Run Support Friends Of Jockey’s Ridge

Posted By on June 22, 2017

You are invited to start off your Independence Day, July 4, by completing a two-mile course on the tallest natural sand dune in the Eastern United States at the annual Killer Dunes 2-Miler and Fun Run.

Attracting runners looking for a “unique” challenge, and drawing a very competitive field, participants are also welcome to walk the course instead (though it’s not just a “walk in the park”).

A quarter-mile Fun Run will follow at 9:15am.

Presented by the Outer Banks Running Club, the race proceeds will benefit Friends of Jockey’s Ridge, a local non-profit dedicated to preserving & enhancing Jockey’s Ridge State Park.

The event will be timed by Mettle Events and awards will be presented to all Finishers, the Top 3 Males and Top 3 Females overall, and to the top 3 finishers in each Age Group.

Post-race refreshments will be available for all participants.

Online registration is open until Saturday, July 1 at 10am.

On-site registration may be available at packet pick up on Monday, July 3 from 3:30 to 5:30pm at Jockey’s Ridge State Park, located near milepost 12 on U.S. 158, and on race day from 7 to 8:15am if the event is not sold out.

Registration for the 2017 Killer Dunes 2-Miler & Fun Run can be found at  outerbanksrunningclub.org .
