Cracker Coming To Kelly’s, Nags Head

Posted By on June 2, 2017

National recording artists Cracker are coming back to the Outer Banks this month, live in concert at Kelly’s Restaurant and Tavern in Nags Head.

Led by singer David Lowery and guitarist Johnny Hickman, Cracker is probably best known for their popular ’90s era radio hits, including “Low”, “What the World Needs Now”, and “Euro-Trash Girl”.

The band was formed in 1991, releasing their debut album Cracker the following year, and they have been touring ever since, releasing 10 studio albums and several compilations, collaborations, solo projects, and live albums over the last three decades. Their best selling album was 1992’s Kerosene Hat, which includes the singles “Low” and “Get Off This”.

In 1995, the Cracker track “Whole Lotta Trouble” was used in the film Empire Records, and that same year, Cracker’s cover of the Flamin’ Groovies song “Shake Some Action” was used in the teen romantic-comedy Clueless.

The unique sound of the band mixes various influences from rock, punk, grunge, psychedelia, country, blues, and folk.

Cracker will be live in concert at Kelly’s Outer Banks Restaurant and Tavern in Nags Head on Thursday, June 15.

The show is scheduled to begin shortly after 10pm.

Tickets are $20, available for advance online purchase here.
